Experienced Military Leader Deitra Trotter

A lifetime member of the Military Intelligence Corps Association, Colonel Deitra Trotter is a proven intelligence officer who deployed to combat four times and received several military awards and decorations. A distinguished graduate of the Defense Language Institute and National War College, she also holds master's degrees in international relations and national security studies from the University of Hawaii and National Defense University, respectively. Colonel Deitra Trotter deployed to Africa, Iraq, and Afghanistan and received the Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, and Military Intelligence Corps' Knowlton Award, among others.

Colonel Deitra Trotter has held several positions during her decorated military career, including Senior Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security and Commander of the 781st MI BN, where she led the Department of Defense's inaugural Cyber National Mission Team. She commanded the 504th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade from 2018 to 2020.

Colonel Trotter now serves as operations chief for the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Headquarters, Department of the Army. In this capacity, she maintains oversight of the training, readiness, current and contingency capabilities of Army intelligence and security forces. She oversees five branches and manages a budget in excess of $500 million.
